The creation of Guylian’s Seashell chocolate began when Guy Foubert and his fiancée Liliane returned home after a relaxing holiday on the Belgian coast and came up with the idea of making a souvenir in chocolate.

When Guy married Liliane in 1958, they immortalised their love and passion for chocolate by merging their first names into Guylian and a new chocolate brand was born.
